2015 Thanksgiving on Mendenhall

It’s hard to believe that my family has spent eight Thanksgivings in my little house on Mendenhall. Many delicious meals, toasts, laughs and friendships have been made at the dinner table, all without turkey. So, it proves the point that Thanksgiving is more than about the big bird…. and reminds me of how thankful for my very sweet life.

This year we prepared filet mignon steaks with a simple brandy sauce, roasted vegetables with a sweet harissa glaze, a gnocchi gratin and a over the top black forest cake. It was way  too much food but made for great leftovers the following night.

As for tradition, we took my annual Thanksgiving photo with the table set and Winston on his perch. I’ll share the recipes from our meal this week.
