This summer I’ve been particularly interested in tequila. After shying away for so many years (maybe post college?), some really interesting tequilas are now on the market. Hornitos 100% Agave tequila is a particular favorite – especially their spiced honey. It’s super smooth and perfect for a refreshing summer cocktail. With the heat wave this summer, it’s irresistible.
This weekend, I served a fizzy and bitter version of my favorite tequila drink, the Paloma. Grapefruit juice, citrus bitters, fizzy club soda and a fresh grapefruit and garden basil, yum! Make sure to ‘slap’ (yes, literally between your hands) the basil to release all the natural oils. It makes big difference.
