This weekend I had the pleasure of cooking a special dinner for the winners of my donation to this year’s Greensboro Symphony Name That Tune Auction. Susan and Jerry happen to be friends and colleagues, which made the event that much more fun. I prepared a menu with summer in mind – 100 degree weather called for a menu straight from the Sunshine State. It was fun puling in family history, sweet stories and delicious variety to the menu. Family recipes, hints of Cuba and Greece, plus a fresh summer dessert fit to cool anyone down. Dinner brought back great memories from dinners shared over hot Florida days by the Withlachoochee River. But, they each had a modern twist! Here are links to these homestead dishes.
