Celebrating Summer + Progress in the ‘Hood

Dear friends, I’m not missing in action! I’ve been terribly busy the last couple weeks keeping my life together. From keeping up my hectic day job, writing my column, maintaining general life order (hello functioning plumbing!) and getting organized with our efforts in bringing food trucks downtown – it’s been non-stop. Thankfully, I survived and I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with sharing recipes!

Last weekend, I was able to cut loose and host a number of friends over for a summer celebration.I hit the farmers market on Saturday morning and picked up plenty of summer produce for the evening. Lots of ripe and colorful tomatoes, the fantastic new lamb sausage at Massey Creek and zucchini and cucumbers. With plenty of wine, we made a night out of eating, laughing and making human pyramids…

Here is the menu from the evening. I’ll share the recipes in the next posts!

In the meantime, happy weekend. And check out our food truck efforts!
