Smitten Kitchen Bacon, Onion and Cream Pizza

Last week while staying up entirely too late on a school night, I watched a show on Fit TV about a guy who ate pepperoni pizza every day. They had an intervention by showing him how much pizza he was eating annually in the form of cardboard pizza boxes and jugs of lard. I fell asleep so I don’t know how the intervention went – but I’m assuming well considering it was an hour-long television show on healthy lifestyles. Several days later, I wondered if I needed to call Fit TV and sign up for the show considering how much pizza I’ve been making. I blame it on the fact that my pizza dough recipe makes enough to feed an army.

To make things worse, I noticed an incredibly decadent recipe on everyone’s favorite food blog, Smitten Kitchen, for a pizza with bacon, onions and cream. I couldn’t resist and I happened to have everything on hand except for a sweet onion. I used cream cheese in place of ricotta because I had it in the fridge. I also added thyme into the onions and a spring on top for color. Just as you can expect, this pizza is amazing! But, I won’t blame you if hold off until after you have forgotten your new years resolution.  That’ll be soon, right?
