Very few trick-or-treaters visited Mendenhall this year. Total bummer. But friends and Zombie punch made up for cute kids in costume.  Halloween favorites, jalapeno poppers and spicy chili, accompanied new treats such as Masha’s bright red Beet and Apple Salad Cups and Smoked Almond Turtles. We were all grateful to have Patrick’s homemade guacamole and fresh red pepper that provided much-needed nutritional value (no worries, Mom!). But there was no doubt that Andy’s Zombie Punch was the hit of the evening. In retrospect, we might be lucky it was a school night – it was the only thing keeping us from drinking far too much!  I’ll post some of the recipes and photos this week!
