Mu’s Blueberry Muffins

This recipe for my blueberry muffins was my Grandmothers (I called her Mu). I thought I had it on file but I didnt and had to email my Dad for it. He scanned it in and emailed it to me and ironically it was in my childhood handwriting. Who knows how old I was when I wrote it in my Mom’s recipe book!

This recipe is very simple. If you are looking for a muffin like you find at D – this isnt it. It isnt full of sugar or butter – just a little of my Grandmother’s favorite – Crisco! – to hold it together.

  1. Almost like a sweet biscuit with blueberries. Similar to a scone. Very yummy warm with a pat of butter. I usually use frozen blueberries because they keep their shape when you add them in. We pick blueberries in the summer and freeze them just for this use.

  2. I have the original index card recipe for some reason. It’s not in Mu’s handwriting, I think it may be by the same mysterious woman who penned the banana bread recipe!
I’m going to make some this weekend….

  3. so cute to see your little handwriting. i have some recipes like this too and should totally scan them in. this looks v.good and might be a sunday morning baking project!
