Pear & Gorgonzola Salad

If you haven’t noticed already, I’m all about serving really easy dishes that look really sophisticated. This salad is a perfect example; it is so simple yet so civilized!

Pear & Gorgonzola Salad – Serves 4

  • 2 bosc pears, pealed and sliced
  • mixed greens
  • gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • lemon juice
  • sesame seeds
  • your favorite vinaigrette

Peal and slice the pears. Coat the pears with lemon juice to prevent from turning brown. Dress the greens with your favorite vinaigrette and top with pears, crumbled gorgonzola and sesame seeds.

  1. Since you’re all about making simple things that look sophisticated, I’ve got a challenge for you. We’re having a housewarming party at the end of the week and will have a house full of friends and co-workers. We need a simple menu that can be put together mostly after work. It is a 7-9pm party, so just appetizers are needed. Care to take a stab at a menu? We’d love the help!

  2. Easy and elegant — I will definitely have to try this one!

Question: where is your favorite place in the Triad to shop for all these yummy ingredients?

    • Thanks for visiting Kat! I typically shop at Harris Teeter. They have just about everything I need. If it is something a little more out of the box I go to Fresh Market. I wish I could get more ingredients from the Farmers Market but I never get up early enough on Saturdays. Oh, and have you been to the Super G Mart on West Market Street? It is a HUGE international super market and is a lot of fun. I rarely shop there but sometimes it is fun to make the trip.

      • No, never checked out the Super G Mart, but thanks for the tip. I’ve been trying to make it to the Downtown Farmers Market all summer…maybe this Saturday will be the day.
