Summer in the South = Peaches & Basil!

peaches

A couple weeks ago my neighbor had a “porch party” and everyone was asked to bring something. I had just gotten some small peaches at the local farmers market and had basil growing in my back yard and thought I would try to maximize resources and put them to use. This recipe was a twist on something I saw on Epicurious.com. It is simple, extremely easy and people think it is very chic.

Summer Peaches with Prosciutto and Basil

  • 5 small peaches
  • handful of fresh whole basil leaves
  • 1/4 pound prosciutto
  • balsamic vinegar
  • olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • fresh ground pepper
  • fancy toothpicks

Cut the peaches in small 2 bite segments. Wrap with prosciutto and basil and stab with fancy tooth pick. Drizzle with balsamic, olive oil, salt and pepper. It is that easy! Enjoy!

  1. Makes me think of melone e prosciutto da italia … aka … sweet fresh canteloupe with prosciutto from italy … so sweet and salty and PERFECT!
